Practice Nurses There is a practice nurse available from 9 am to 12 noon and 1.30pm to 6 pm Monday to Friday to provide initial treatment to emergency patients and give advice (either in person or by telephone) on a variety of health problems. The following professionally trained staff are available as shown. Therese - RN Div. 1 and Pat - RN Div. 1: Therese and Pat are available at the Lister House Theatre from 9 am to 12 noon and 1.30 pm to 6 pm, Monday to Friday. They perform routine nursing duties such as dressings, injections and immunisations under the direction of a doctor and they also ensure that our surgical equipment is sterilised to comply with infection control standards. Jenny - RN Div. 1 and Nanette - RN Div. 1: As midwives, they attend Lister House on Tuesday and Friday. They are both able to give the necessary supervision, care and advice to women during pregnancy and the post partum period including lactation advice. Jo and Leanne - both RN Div. 1: As Diabetes Educators, Jo and Leanne run clinics on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Yvette - RN Div. 1: Yvette visits our patients at home to assess their health and safety risks. She also carries out care plans, pap smears and other general nursing duties.
Julie - RN Div. 2 (pictured) and Deb - RN Div. 2: Julie and Deb assist the doctors by performing ECG's, spirometries, blood pressure checks, audiometries and care plans which include 45 - 49 year old's health assessment.
Practice Manager: Rob has owned and operated his own businesses in Horsham and the Wimmera and has had a long career in business management and accounting.
In the Horsham city area, home visits can be made in cases of urgent medical need where you are too sick to come to the clinic. The sort of problems which may need a home visit are those that might physically prevent the patient getting out of bed (e.g. balance disturbance) or infectious disease (e.g. chicken pox) or where other factors apply, such as having several sick children. In general, it is more difficult for the doctor to assess your problem at home, particularly if further tests are needed. Visits can also be arranged for patients in nursing homes and in hospital. |
