Lister House Medical Clinic appointments

Lister House Medical Clinic is Horsham’s largest GP clinic, with the doctors offering a wide range of medical services.

Routine appointments with Lister House Clinic Horsham & Natimuk doctors

Appointments are normally made at 15-minute intervals to allow adequate time for the visit. This time may be longer if your problem is more complex and needs to be dealt with immediately, otherwise your doctor may suggest making a follow-up appointment. If you think you may need extra time with the doctor please ask the reception staff for a longer appointment. Some consultations require more time, including pre-employment and insurance medicalstheatre appointments and pap smears.

Patients can request their preferred doctor when making appointments. Reception staff will endeavour to accommodate patient’s preference in the appointment schedule.

All weekend and evening duty appointments are for urgent problems only and may only be booked on the day or by the doctor’s request. A 24-hour notice period is preferred for all cancellations. A late cancellation fee now applies within 24 hours of your scheduled consult. Min $50 fee will apply for late cancellation without reasonable attempts to reschedule.

Your doctor may occasionally be delayed. You may prefer to ring and check if your doctor is running on time. Please try not to be late for your appointment as this means other patients will also be subsequently delayed. If a doctor is late- please discuss this with them at the time of the consult- as they are independent contractors and have their own schedules. This is not a LHC accepted responsibility.

Emergency doctors’ appointments

Please attend our WALK IN AND WAIT CLINIC – next door to Lister House Clinic. No appointments but wait in order of arrival. Fees may apply and hours subject to change with no notice. Mostly open Mon- Fri 9-12 and 3-5.  Not open weekends.

Please advise our receptionists if you require an urgent appointment; we will endeavour to fit you in with a doctor as soon as possible. Our practice nurses are also available to triage patients and give advice.

If it is outside our normal medical centre hours, please call the clinic number to speak to one of our after-hours doctors, or attend Wimmera Base Hospital Emergency Department.

Medical students in consultations

At Lister House Medical Clinic, we provide training for medical students to ensure the longevity of health services in the Wimmera region. Training medical students is rewarding for staff and patients at our medical centre, as they bring up-to-date knowledge and assistance with the doctor’s patient load while learning on the job.

As part of this initiative, given your consent, you may occasionally have a student doctor present during your consultation. Please do not book a student consult if you don’t wish to see the student.

Please advise reception prior to your appointment if you do not wish to have a student present.
